Jack and The Spare Hearts

Jack and the Spare Hearts is a six-piece band with horns located in Kitchener, Ontario.   Incorporating influences like Motown, Stax and 70s New Wave, the Spare Hearts play original tunes blending R&B, funk, ska, new wave, and jazz with an attitude that says we are here to enjoy ourselves. And feel free to do the same!

Jack Cooper (trombone, guitar, vox, songwriter) was a bona fide Ward resident while living across from the Italian Canadian Club in Guelph. Guitarist Robert Reid started out playing with The Platters and other international touring bands. Since settling in Waterloo Region over twenty years ago, he has accompanied countless artists across a wide variety of genres. Peter Turpin is our token Guelphite as well as an in-demand bass player for live performance and recording projects. Steve Aylward (drums) is a multi-instrumentalist with many music projects on the go including Kitchener’s Vox Confidential. Connor Wilde (trumpet) is an alumni of Nova Scotia’s St. FX music program who moved to Waterloo in 2023 to pursue a career in music therapy and has performed with several local acts including the Ian Andrews' Big Bad Blues Band.  Kim Regimbal (sax) graduated from Wilfrid Laurier’s music program and is a multi-instrumentalist who has played hundreds of shows with numerous local bands, all with boundless creativity and instrumental fluency.
